Join the Watch Party Data Morgana: Episode 1 ‘The Online Public Space’

Watch the first episode of Data Morgana together and join the conversation with talkshow guests

The internet has fallen into the hands of a few Big Tech companies. With the promise to make our world better, fairer, and more efficient, they are collecting our data on a huge scale. Has this really made the world a better place, or is that merely an illusion – a ‘Data Morgana’?

Our dependency on Big Tech raises more and more concern now that both Meta and X abolished moderation on their platforms, and are mingling with politics – both in the US and in Europe. Can we break loose of this dependency? In the ‘Data Morgana’ talkshow, we engage in conversation with experts, scientists, artists and entrepreneurs to shape a better future for our internet.

On Monday, March 24, at 8:00 PM CET, we are hosting the first watch party of episode 1 of Data Morgana via the journalistic platform Display Europe! Afterwards, there will be room for discussion.

During the watch party, we will watch the first episode together online, followed by a conversation with talkshow guests and the research team. Since Data Morgana can be subtitled in 15 European languages via Display Europe, an international audience can join the event and watch the show with subtitles in their preferred language. This means you can watch the episode together with your network abroad!

After the online screening, you will have the opportunity to engage in a discussion with guest speaker and internet entrepreneur Ruben Brave, guest speaker and PublicSpaces director Jantien Borsboom, and table host Julia Janssen. The PublicSpaces research team involved in this episode will also be present. The discussion will be held in English.
